Wondering how the discovery of the time machines, that have captured the fantasy of the numerous people across the globe, have slipped through your notice?? Here is how!
When you walk on the road carelessly passing blocks and blocks of buildings with so many hoardings, it is very much plausible that you never gave second thoughts to the one announcing "LIBRARY"! After all it is a very modest building that rarely stands out of the crowd. So why take a second look? Why give a damn about books that are clearly nothing but a part of a nerd's life? Why spend so much time on a novel, when you need all that precious time of yours to be active on social networking, pretending to be famous , successful and witty? Why read a book, when it will be released as a movie and you can watch that? Why read comics, when you can watch cartoons? Ya, why make reading as a pass-time when you cant even tolerate the time spent with books at school/college? If these were the questions that rose in your small mind and you just walked past it without entering, am pretty sure you have missed thousands of time machines! And you will continue to miss them if you don't change the am-not-bookish attitude!
Before I move on to elaborate the pleasures of being a bookworm, I got to clarify some serious misunderstandings regarding book lovers! Firstly, being a book lover has got very little to do with being a nerd, except for a few coincidences, where the book lovers come top of the class! Secondly, reading a book is as relaxing as playing games, hanging out, listening to music or for that matter any other hobby you choose to pursue! And lastly, reading a book is totally a different experience from watching the same story on-screen!
True to the description as time-machines, books have the capacity of transporting us to a different time, different place, sometimes even a different world! It instills compassion in readers and you end up experiencing a story rather than just reading it! It connects you to different types of people. They are treasure houses of knowledge and creativity! And I can keep listing the advantages, only that the list will end up as a book!
Sadly, Literature, the most important source of history have become a thing of the past! It is a pity that, the most magical and encaptivating books have been replaced by video-games, serials, movies and other by-products of the ever-growing technology. Don't take me wrong. Am not against tech development or tech freaks. But to lose a wonderful way of life to technology is not wise! The modern youngsters are not merely losing a pass-time, but they are shutting down a gateway to realms that are far beyond our physical reach! Those minds that do not read do not have the capacity to think beyond oneself! Lack of passion and compassion are two evils that will accompany!
Dear people, atleast now give yourself a chance to redeem! Liberate yourself from the physical boundaries and give yourself a chance to enjoy and relish the limitless emotions, a good book has to offer! Let your minds loose and take in as many thoughts as possible from people, across the globe and time! On this note, I bid farewell! For its time for me to take on yet another voyage! :)
