Even though it is in my not-so-good English, I have a short birthday wish for the city that is close to my heart! Namma Chennai Chancey ila!! :D Here is a little tribute-           for the city, that never fails to contribute! Chennai or Madras, whatever you call, It will never let you fall! Walking alongside the shores of the beach, We feel success is well within reach! Enlightenment begins at V.house! Connemara is for you to browse! Celebrating everyday with funfilled night life! And wake up to the chores that are rife! Midst the crowd that rush, The city always feel afresh! Ultimate masala and glitz in Kollyood! Unlimited meals are always supergood! Climate and gals here, are too hot! Whatever you ask, we have got! If you choose to stay, it is the sweetest home! If you leave, you will only long to come! Chennai is the best in all the worlds! To praise it, am short of words!  

நான்குமறை ஓதும் ஆர்வமில்லை ! நான்குதிசையினரையும் சேர்க்கும் ஆசையுண்டு ! மெக்காவிற்கு திருப்பயணம் சென்றதில்லை ! மெலியோர்க்கு சிறுதொண்டு செய்ததுண்டு ! ஏசுவின் மகிமை பாடியதில்லை ! ஏழைகள் படும்கொடுமை பார்த்துவெகுண்டதுண்டு ! உண்டியல்கள் நிரப்ப உழைத்ததில்லை ! உணவை பகிர்ந்து உண்டதுண்டு ! கல்லில் கடவுள் கண்டதில்லை ! கல்வியை கண்போல் காத்ததுண்டு ! சோதிடம் பார்த்திடும் சோம்பலில்லை ! சோதனைகள் தாண்டி சோபித்ததுண்டு ! பெண்மையை அடிமையாக்கி பேரின்பம் கொண்டதில்லை ! பெண்ணாய்ப் பிறந்ததற்கு பெருமையில் பொங்கியதுண்டு ! மனதில் விடம் விதைக்கும் மதங்களை மதிப்பதில்லை ! மனிதநேயம் நெஞ்சில் என்றும் மலர்வதுண்டு ! சண்டைகள் தூண்டும் சாதிகள் வேண்டியதில்லை ! சமரசம் பேசி அமைதி வளர்க்கும் வேள்வியுண்டு ! பக்தியில்லை ! பாசமுண்டு ! முக்தி தேவையில்லை ! சக்தி கையிலுண்டு ! என் கடவுளிடம் முறையிடத் தேவையில்லை ! எண்ணற்ற கடவுள்களிடமிருந்து முரண்பட்டு தோன்றியதுண்டு ! அன்பே சிவமாய் கருதி அமைதிப் போர் புரியும் நானும் ஓர்  ஆத்திகவாதி !

பாட்டுக்கொரு புலவன் பாட்டைக் கேட்டு கிறுகிறுத்து போன நெஞ்சம் கிறுக்கியது..... அச்சம் தவிர்த்த அஞ்சானோ ?! ஆதிக்க வேரறுத்த வீரனோ ?! இன்றமிழ் வானில் உதித்த இளஞ்சூரியனோ ?! ஈட்டிச்சொற் கொண்டு பேதமை வதைத்த ஈசனோ ?! உள்ளுவதெலாம் உயர்வாய் உண்ணிய உத்தமனோ ?! ஊமைக்கு குரல் தந்து ஊக்கியவனோ ?! எழுச்சியை ஏற்றிவைத்த எளியவனோ ?! ஏறு போல் நடந்த ஏகனோ ?! ஐயங்கள் பல தெளித்த ஐயனோ ?! ஒப்பிலா புகழ் படைத்த ஒருவனோ ?! ஓங்குதமிழை அழகாய் சித்தரித்த ஓவியனோ ?! ஔவையின் ஆத்திசூடியில் கலந்த பழமை விடம் முறித்த ஔடதமோ ?! எஃகுபோல் உறுதி கொண்ட எந்திரனோ ?! பெண்மை ஆதரித்த புலவனோ ? -  பாரதி !                     புதுமைத் தேருக்கு நீயே சாரதி !

    Probably after too much food for thought, here are few thoughts on food! :) No! No! Don't get me wrong.. Am no dietitian and I have no intention on delivering an essay about healthy food habits. On the contrary I would like to relish and relive the tasty moments along with you all! A wise man once said  "  The  way to a man's heart is through his stomach ". Am not sure if it was true for all men, nor do I care. But if you are looking for the way to my heart its definitely through my stomach! ;) Am not even slightly perturbed when my friends tease about me being heavy. Am a food lover and I have no intentions of hiding it!        Being a vegetarian by birth as well as choice has not diminished my choice for good food. I am forced to admit one of the best thing about being Tam-Brahm (atleast according to me) is the-state-of-the-art meals that one gets to eat daily! Be it the 'onion-less' veththa kozhambu and paal payasam that my mom has...

அன்பிலா நெஞ்செனும் அடித்தளத்தில்  ஆணவக் கோட்டை கட்டி  இன்பப் புதுமனை புகுவிழாவிற்கு  ஈசனை சாட்சியாய் வைத்து  உழைத்து வாழும் எளியவரின்  ஊதியத்தில் ஊழல் செய்து  எட்டுத்தலைமுரைக்கு சொத்து சேர்த்து  ஏக்கங்களை தினமும் பார்த்து  ஐயங்களை மூட்டையாய் சேர்த்து  ஒப்பனைகளில் அழகைக் கண்டு  ஓய்விலும் வேலைத் தேடி  ஔதடத்தை உணவாய் உண்டு  கபடங்களினுள்  மெய்யை மூடி  சட்டங்களுள் ஓட்டை போட்டு  திட்டங்கள் பலவும் தீட்டி  குண்டர்களை தலைவர் ஆக்கி  பகையை பொழுதும் கூட்டி  மிகயாய் வாக்குகள் தந்து  குறைவாய் உதவிகள் செய்து - உயர்  பண்பை முற்றிலும் மறந்து  பகட்டாய் வாழ்க்கைத் தள்ளும்  பயனற்ற நிழல் மனிதர்கள்!

   If you are wondering what new I have got to say about the Iraq or Palestine issues, am sorry to disappoint you. I have only heard of wars in news or in history books but have won and learnt from (losing is really not in my dictionary ;) ), a lot of battles. Not just me, most people out there have never seen wars but have sustained a numerous life battles. Yeah! this is a tribute to all those who never care to fit in the box!      Life is not a cake walk. Not even to the richest , most privileged and most fortunate! All of us face our own battles. But to fight as a warrior or to give up like a common man is upto an individual. For  It is our choices that show what we truly are... far more than our abilities.  In every choice you make in your life lies the real you. Most people choose the road already taken, to conform by the rules the society impose on them. A few question them and fewer stand up for themselves. Anywhere in the world, any liberal,...
